Maps.com Releases Customized & Interactive Maps for Directory Web Sites
Santa Barbara, CA — [March 11, 2008] Maps.com, the leading provider of custom mapping solutions for the directory publishing industry since 1991, announces a new line of customized and interactive online maps for directory Web sites.
Maps.com provides a variety of print services for the directory publishing industry, including overview maps, detailed street maps, area code, zip code, and public transportation route maps —all of which are completely customized to a directory's specifications. Now, Maps.com is offering the same kinds of maps for directories' Web sites, with newly added interactive features.
New features on Maps.com's online directory mapping site include interactive overlays of zip codes, area codes, public transportation routes, schools, local points of interest, and more. Advertiser's listings can be plotted on a map, and the maps can be zoomed in on and panned across for easy viewing. Since each map is tailored to the client's needs, the maps are designed to contain as many features as needed.
"We have been creating interactive maps for other industries, and are pleased to offer high-quality Internet solutions to our directory publishing clients," said Paul Chapman, Director of Sales for Maps.com's Custom Mapping Division. "Today's consumers expect to find all the information they need at a click of a mouse, and up until now, they have had to go to a variety of places to get the information they need. However," he notes, "when a directory has a user-friendly interactive map with listings of local businesses, zip codes, area codes, public transportation information, etc., it then becomes the site they bookmark. Their time no longer needs to be wasted on Internet searches. We created a way for a directory's website to be a one-stop, online informational package."
